The Audi Art Award - photography

The Audi Art Award supports students and graduates. It will be awarded for the first time in 2008 to talents from Hamburg and Hanover and a selection of their international partner cities.

A jury consisting of high grade representatives of the German art and culture scene will select the most impressing works. Without any costs for the artist, those works will be reproduced as high-end prints for a one-time exhibition.

The theme for the Audi Art Award 2008 is „Live Progressively" and directed at young and upcoming photography artists, who are invited to realize their artistic visions of progressive life.

A convincing visualization of the symbiosis of progress and life with the connotation of modernness and dynamics and the specific effects on each individuals life should be achieved. Progress and technic, which accelerate the world day by day and whose synergies and globalization can be felt and experienced by all people, offer a wide spectrum for persuasive artistic analysis.

Out of all entries a competent jury will chose the best 15 works from each city including both winners from Hamburg and Hanover and form the exclusive art award exhibition which will take place in a local gallery.

Only one picture is allowed to enter the competition - a series of pictures will not be permitted. The application must also include a story to the origin of the your picture as well your own vita, otherwise it will be invalid.

Audi AG receives a simple right of use, and is, for a period of 5 years as from the closing date for entries, in particular entitled but not obliged, worldwide without restriction and without any restriction as to the number, to undertake the publication, duplication, dissemination, public communication, broadcasting, inclusion in an exhibition catalogue, reproduction, storage - including transfer to other storage media, adaptation and enlargement, translation, creation of derivative works, distribution, public performance, incorporation into other works and translation and digitalisation of the photos sent in by the user, and also to transfer the foregoing rights, either in whole or in part, to third parties, or to have the same exercised by third parties.
  • Eligibility: Students and graduates from the subjects fotography, design, graphics and fine arts are asked to deal with the theme "live progressively". The Audi Art Award is directed at youths and adults from 18-35 years of age who can prove a direct link to the cities of Hamburg and Hanover or their international partner cities - Shanghai, Sao Paolo, Posen and Bristol.
