Europe is now an essentially urban society, with four out of five Europeans living in towns and cities. Most of the environmental challenges facing our society originate from urban areas, but it is also these urban areas that bring together the commitment and innovation needed to resolve them.

2008 Kaptol Zagreb, Urban Design Competition

The Kaptol area is a part of the city core as well as an element of the historical urban area of the City of Zagreb, the most complex space considering cultural, historical, spiritual, social and legal aspects. This is a space used for a variety of purposes and events, with a particularly intensive and aggressive traffic of all kinds.
