Design the Europe Wide Campaign on the "Declaration of School Students Rights"!

INTRODUCTION

Since 1995 OBESSU has worked on the creation of a charter of school student  rights. OBESSU has been strongly engaged in the discussion on how to implement
this document and how to give to school students and school student unions the possibility to make it reality in their own country.

The third European School Student Convention held in December 2007 in Rome (Italy) had the intent to draft a strategy on how to deal with this document and how to work in a network with other social partners in order to lobby for a formal recognition of the Declaration from national and European institutions. In fact, we believe it is
strategically beneficial to have unified actions for the promotion of the declaration all over the continent.

We are demanding recognition of the rights of all school students with reference to the universal declaration of human rights, the convention on the rights of the child, the European Social Charter, the international covenant on civil and political rights and the international covenant on economic, social and cultural rights.

levels. Therefore, we are pleased to announce that the joint European campaign on school student rights will be launched on September 2008.

THE COMPETITION

Here is your opportunity to express your opinion and creatively make a difference in the field of youth policy work. The aim is to raise awareness of school student rights and to encourage school students to actively participate in their schools. The main objective of the competition is to create a visual identity for this pan-European campaign.

Therefore we ask you to:

Suggest a cool name for the campaign, a slogan and a logo.
Create a poster, a sticker, a postcard which will have a direct effect on the society and will give a strong motivation for the students to work towards recognition of their rights. Slogan and logo could be two or one entity; it is up to you to decide. The message and logo must be clear, strongly visible, and applicable to other graphic designs. Since the slogan is going to be used in many European countries, it has to be general, to apply to everyone.
The winning poster design will be printed and distributed in all OBESSU Member countries.

The award is voucher or a free travel in Europe (Budget is € 500) and a free invitation to the OBESSU summer camp in 2009!!!

The Resolution of the 3rd European School Student Convention held in Rome in December 2007.

You will find both of them on the OBESSU website.

ADDITIONAL INFRORMATIONS

The competition is open to anyone who is interested to take part. By submitting a proposition, the candidate acknowledges the right for OBESSU to make changes on the proposal. The winning design will be selected by a jury which consists of OBESSU member and observer countries and the board of OBESSU. (OBESSU keeps its right to decline any unfitting proposals).
