Presentation and objectives
The Zaragoza Logistics Center Scholarship currently provides around 20
scholarships each year for students of the MIT-Zaragoza Master of
Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) program.
Through ZLOG Eastern and Central Europe Scholarship, the Foundation
hopes to attract outstanding future leaders from Eastern and Central
European countries. Candidates will be expected to show extraordinary
potential for leadership and professional success, bringing new vision
and commitment to the area of Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Coverage
The scholarship provides full tuition and administrative fees for the
MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain
Management (ZLOG) program, which amounts to €21,500 to a student of
the academic year 2009-2010.
The scholarship will not include other costs such as living or travel
expenses to Zaragoza or to Boston for the international exchange.
Eligibility
Scholarships are awarded only to students who have been admitted to
the MIT-Zaragoza Master of Engineering in Logistics & Supply Chain
Management (ZLOG) program through the Foundation's regular admissions
procedure.
Furthermore, the applicants should display exceptional academic
achievement and distinctive personal accomplishment in addition to an
interest in pursing a career in Logistics/Supply Chain Management.
To be eligible you must comply with the following criteria:
* Fluency in English, minimum TOEFL score of 105 points in the
Internet based test.
* GMAT score equivalent or higher than 650 or GRE score equivalent
or higher than 760. Exceptions may be granted to individuals who have
demonstrated strong academic achievement in completing a college
degree - including some quantitative training - and evidence of
advanced verbal and written proficiency in the English language
* Professional excellence in Logistics/Supply Chain Management or
exceptional academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.5 on the scale of
4.0 or equivalent).
* Nationals from the following Eastern and Central European countries:
Albania
Czech Republic

Moldova
Slovakia
Belarus
Hungary
Montenegro
Slovenia
Bosnia and Herzegovina

Application Process
To be selected as a recipient of this scholarship, the candidates must
fulfil all of the above-mentioned requirements and submit complete
applications to the ZLC Financial Aid Office consisting of one
original copy of the following materials:
1. Completed application form including the following: an essay
stating their interests, qualifications, and related experience; a
statement describing their interest in the award and detailing their
personal career goals in logisticsand vocational plans; awards and
honors received.
2. Copy of passport.
3. Detailed current resume indicating references and contact data
of former employers.
4. Official transcript of the Bachelor Degree. Applicants should
request an official transcript from each undergraduate and graduate
program in which they have participated and submit it in its sealed
envelope to the ZLC Financial Aid Office.
5. TOEFL score in the Internet based test. Applicants should both
self-report the TOEFL score on the application form and submit
official score reports directly to ZLC by using the Institution Code
3803.
6. GMAT/GRE score. Applicants should both self-report the GMAT/GRE
score on the application form and submit official score reports
directly to the ZLC by using Institution Code 3803 (for GRE please use
the department code 0000).
7. Copy of employment contact, last payslip or other official
document that can account for the last salary received. (Not
applicable for applicants who are currently full-time students)
All interested applicants should apply directly through the ZLC
Financial Aid Office, which serves as an information base and support
service for students seeking scholarships.
Deadline
The deadline for the ZLOG Eastern and Central Europe Scholarship
application is March 15th 2009. Early application is however
encouraged. All supporting documentation to the application must be
postmarked by the respective date listed above.
Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.
Selection criteria and process
Competition for the ZLOG scholarships is intense and highly
competitive. The candidates will be chosen on the basis of:

Ability to make a significant contribution to the discipline of
Logistics and Supply Chain Management, with a strong aptitude for
analysis and a creative approach to defining and solving problems.
*
Recognition of the importance of personal integrity and ethical
decision making.
*
Enthusiastic pursuit of self-improvement and a desire to be at
the forefront in the creation and discovery of new knowledge.
*
Experience and interest in working in multicultural teams.
Preference will be given to candidates with background or work
experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
The ZLC Evaluation Committee will identify the finalists for the ZLOG
Eastern and Central Europe Scholarship by March 30th. Phone interviews
will be scheduled with all finalists by April 10th.
Applicants will be notified by e-mail of the outcome and furthermore
the scholarship holder will receive an award letter.
